Dan P Carter to present new radio 1 Rock show

Does that mean he'l play some new tracks of the Cable tribute album?  He's good friends with them and was a big fan of Cable so maybe he will, which would give cable a little more exposure which would be cool.  Back in the day they were criminally ignored, with only Peel playing their stuff, its quite amazing really that no other DJ played any of their stuff.

well, we're hoping so. this'll probably be our best chnace for radio play.
him and richie are on tour with matt willis at the moment, but we're chasing this up so we'll keep you posted if we hear anything....
should be good for the show though, hopefully he'll start playing some decent stuff, minke davies just tended to play crap half the time, and as for the lock up stage at reading, dont get me started on that....

Thanks for the heads-up, Placid.  I do quite enjoy a good old listen to the Radio 1 Rock Show (I listen to it on my computer at work - I don't like it enough to stay up until 3 in the morning!).  I haven't listened to Dan's debut yet but I probably will this afternoon.  It looks like a pretty good playlist - starting with Faith No More and some live Sikth?  Sweet!  Let's hope he does stick some Cable on there.  Mind you, the Rock Show does tend to lean more to the metal side of the music spectrum.  But if enough people e-mail in requests for Cable...
